RESPONSIBLE MEMBER Jim Morey
New Business:
Nominations are being accepted for all positions on the Board of Directors. Jim Morey, Jason Spillers and Jim Turner do not intend to seek re-election. Please submit your nomination to Jim Morey via e-mail jhmorey@cox.net. Alternatives were also discussed should nominations not be received to include hiring a professional management company, and dissolving the association and the ramifications of both of these actions.
Vote to amend the By-Laws was deferred until the August meeting because there were not enough residents in attendance for a quorum.
Jim Morey investigated and discussed the idea of an interactive web page. Two other associations were contacted who had had such a page and discontinued it because of improper use and in one instance led to legal action being taken against the association. The webmaster acknowledged that such a page would require daily administration and monitoring. Since we are not willing to pay the webmaster to do this, nor do we have anyone who is willing to do this, and the potential for legal actions, the board has decided not to pursue this idea.
The Association will dispense with mailings to the membership. Instead we will hand distribute by hanging distributions on the mail box.
Membership assessments will be $100.00 for non-lake lots and $200.00 for lake lots for FY2009 (1 September 2008 – 31 August 2009). These assessments are due by 30 September 2008. Assessment notices will be sent out the first week in August. Please wait until you receive your notice with payment instructions so that we may insure correct posting of your payment.
WILD ANIMALS: A raccoon was seen during the day on Robinson Way. This animal began to approach persons in their yard before retreating toward the lake. This is very unusual behavior and may indicate that the animal is sick. Children should be warned not to try to approach any wild animals.
The Architectural Control committee received three requests for property improvements. Approved without change were the relocation of the fence at 101 Robbie Court and the building of a shed at 109 Zachary Court. Pending further requested information is an addition to the home at 107 Zachary Court.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM
