Board Of Directors Meeting – September 23 2009

The Board Of Directors Meeting was held on September 23, 2009 at 96 Lovorn Circle. The meeting was called to order at 6:59 p.m.

Attendance

Members present: Jane Krumwiede, Gus Pellegrino, Jim Morey, Kathleen Pellegrino and Michelle Klingaman.

Discussion

The meeting was called in order to address concerns from the community.

The first concern is members of the association using the emails of all members to send emails out. Email addresses should only be used for "official business" not for individual use. We will ensure that in the future email addresses are posted "blind". Only board members should be using the email addresses provided by the members.

Katie would like to put together a letter to the homeowners addressing the issue of the CD, the bank cards and also include a survey to see what night they would like to have the homeowners meeting. Some residents find the Wednesday night meeting hard to attend due to work commitments and church. She will remind the members that Wednesdays are the only night available at Flint and that we don't pay to meet there. Meetings should be held after 6:00 p.m. to allow people to get home from jobs. We will print on two sheets of paper, survey will be separate from the letter. We will provide a stamped/addressed envelope for the return of the survey. .

A suggestion was made to have a meet and greet of the new board of directors. We will postpone this event until the first of the year. The board members feel that now would not be a good time.

Jim Morey has drafted a fax to the bank to reduce our credit line on the credit cards from $10,400 to $3,000. We believe that the general membership will be more comfortable with this amount. Members will use these cards only for "official business" for the homeowners. No personal expenses will be put on these cards. There have been 3 cards issued.

Jim spoke to us on the CD. It is legal for the association to invest their own money. This does not jeopardize the non-profit standing of our association. We will make very little money and the money made can be put into projects for the association.

Katie spoke about projects to help with the speeding problem in the neighborhood. She suggested speed bumps. Jim stated that this was looked at before and the city said it would be a problem because we are an open neighborhood and it would impede emergency vehicles from arriving in a timely fashion.

We are also concerned about the theft in the neighborhood. We spoke on the possibility of installing cameras in our neighborhood. We can look into the cost of this and where they could be mounted. We should make sure that we file police reports. Both the city and county will respond if called. We should have Wayne and Gary Andrews talk and then present something to the membership on the neighborhood watch program. We need to get our areas set up again.

The fountain has arrived. Currently it is being stored at Jim Morey's house. It weighs 70 lbs. Jim will need help to get it to the lake and launched. Currently the wiring is at 788 Lake Joy; we may need to move the electrical closer to 784 Lake Joy as the company only sent 200 feet of wire. We will check with Jason Spillers to see if he can assist with the wiring. As the weather cools we will get this project completed. We talked on possibly having a get together once it is ready to turn on.
